Gschwind, gschwind, wieder was verdient.
Difficult to put down Januar 19, 2008 K. Gardner I picked up Plum Lovin'. A Stephanie Plum Novel by Janet Evanovich, I had not expected it to be much more than a semi-interesting read. However, with every page turn, I became more and more attached to the novel's heroine, and actually found it very difficult to put the book down. Since reading this book, I have highly recommended it to all my girlfriends. It's a beautiful story about life, love and friendship filled with excitement, heartbreak and hope. I'd also recommend reading Tino Georgiou's bestselling novel--The Fates--if you haven't yet!!
Diesel, Stephanie's friend from "Visions of Sugar Plums" who has some supernatural powers, visits her shortly before Valentine's Day. Stephanie is searching for Annie Hart, and Diesel is keeping Annie safe. So he suggests a deal - Stephanie is supposed to take on Annie's cases as matchmaker while Diesel hands over Annie once he manages to find the man who threatens Annie. So Stephanie finds herself playing cupid for five people, trying to clean up their love lives until Valentine's Day. Does the description sound a bit weird? Well, that's the whole book - but it's funnily weird. I was well entertained by Stephanie's and her folks' antics - mostly Lula and Grandma Mazur. "Plum Lovin'" is a short book, but it's hilarious. Stephanie Plum fans will love it even if Ranger and Morelli don't have big roles in it. Then again there's Diesel - and he is an interesting character, too.
Good but wait for the price to go down.
It was great to catch up with Stephanie again, even if this was a short story. Alot of little things happened in this etween the numbers' book that will effect the main series so it will be really interesting to see what happens in 'Lean Mean Thirteen' which comes out in a few days time! I am glad I didn't buy this book at the ridiculous prices everyone was asking for it. It was good and it had me laughing out loud more than once but it was a bit of a rip off seeing as it is only 164 pages long. So I am extra glad that I managed to get this copy on Bookmooch.com and now I have to decide if I will let the book travel or if it will stay with the rest of my 'Plum' books in my permanent collection!
