...at least this is true for the small pictures on amazon.
Well, I don't agree in total with my fellow writer. There is nothing to be ashamed of for reading tales of Peter Rabbit in public at the age of e.g. 40 as for putting the child version of Harry Potter on the desk or shelf.
But I have to admit that I prefer the boxed set for it keeps all volumes together, nice and tidy, waiting for the complete boxed set with all 7 volumes to come out though.
Although I'm German, I prefer English originals. Jokes and play on words appear more originally as they were invented, rather than translated and altered to match.
The German adult edition varies from the standard children edition due to some extras. The text content is completely the same but cover design an layout alter:
The adult edition has an embossed binding, a cover with photo print and a ribbon page marker.
I expect the English version to be the same. As fare as I can see, it carries a high quality drawing instead of a photography on the cover.
And the paper quality might be a little lower, than on German books usual, as sometimes, but that's to that point unconfirmed and purely speculative.
I can't wait to get the English Harry Potter adult edition 7 volumes boxed set and reading that jolly good story to give one's fancy full scope whilst enjoying a good pipe!

Even if you have the popular copies from the U.S. and UK, hard and paper. Nothing can compare or replace the Adult set. If someone was to look on my shelf I would not be embarrassed to show that I have the adult version.For information on the content of the books please read my individual reviews. However for neophytes to the Potter series, this is an ongoing story of a young wizard and his pals coming of age and his adventures in learning how to deal with people and situations that become more of a challenge as he advances through age. There is a lot more depth and research that went into this series than the superficial story that holds it together. Starting out with a box set will allow you to read at your own pace and know that the next book is just waiting for you. Box sets are also more esthetic on the shelf. There will inevitably be a seven book set but can you wait?

Selten findet man Buecher, wo das Preis-Leistung Verhaeltnis auch stimmt. Aber hier gibt es wirklich nichts auszusetzen. Diese Sammelbox, die gleich fuenf Sondereinbaende von Harry Potter beinhaltet, ist einfach fabelhaft. Nicht nur, dass man so seine Englisch-Kenntnisse auf einfachste Weise verbessern kann, sondern man hat gleichzeitig ein echtes Prachtstueck im Buecherregal (Stoff-Einbaende mit Original Bloomsbury-Verlag Bildern, Goldene Seitenkanten, tolle Papier-Qualitaet, ausserdem ist in jedem Buch das Hogwarts-Wappen abgebildet und darunter das Hogwarts Motto: "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus" (Never tickle a Sleeping Dragon)).
Die Englische Fassung ist, fuer mich persoenlich, viel besser als die Deutsche Uebersetzung (welche ich ebenfalls gelesen habe). Da geht eben der englische Humor nicht verloren und man fuehlt sich dieser faszinierenden Welt der Fantasy von J. K. Rowling in der Original Fassung viel naeher. Es gibt nicht viele Schriftsteller die Ihren Charakteren und der Handlung so viel Charme und *Magie* geben koennen, wie eben J. K. Rowling. Harry wird mit jedem weiteren Buch erwachsener und der Leser erfaehrt immer mehr und mehr von seiner geheimnisvollen Welt. So werden die Buecher auch von Band zu Band dicker.
Fazit: fuer alle Potter-Fans ein Muss und fuer Alle, die die Manie noch nicht befallen hat, nach diesen Buechern wird sich das sicherlich aendern. Ich kann Ihnen diese Sonder-Sammelbox herzlichst empfehlen, denn ich persoenlich bin dem Harry-Potter-Fluch schon laengst verfallen und koennte es immer wieder und wieder lesen, weil es eben so viel Spass macht.

Super, dass es jetzt alle fuenf Baende auf einmal gibt. Zwar etwas teuer,aber es lohnt sich . Das kommt auf jeden Fall in mein Buecherregal. Ich werd hier jetzt nichts ueber den Inhalt schreiben, den kennt so wie so schon jeder... Ich kann nur empfehlen alle fuenf Baende auf Englisch zu lesen, da ist noch was vom Witz des Originals da, der bei der Uebersetzung oft verloren geht.
