Sehr yummie, aber zu wenig vampirisch veranlagt. Viel Sex und Liebe, aber die dunkle Seite der Nacht kommt nicht wirklich durch. Kein Vergleich zu Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series!

I really got into the series with the first book - "Dark Lover" - it was such a promising start! The sequel "Lover Etnernal" is still very good, but....
1) I did not really care a lot for Mary because her character was not developed to the point that I started liking her. Yes, I know she was worried about becoming seriously sick again and there were a few lines where she was standing up against Rhage and the brothers, but that wasn't very convincing and didn't happen often enough to make it believable.
2) What happened to Wrath and Beth - the hero and heroine of the first book? They are barely mentioned, but some key decisions and facts have happened in the first book and I wanted to read about them in the sequel. How does Wrath rule the Vampire Society, what measures hase he taken (other than having the brothers move in into the same house and starting to get Civilian Vampires trained as warriors)? How did he address his stepping up to the throne to his people - and how does he bring the society together again? There are a lot of loose ends here which should be described in the sequels, if this really is a serie.
3) I didn't like the idea of Rhage being stuck with a female who can't have children. I thought that the brothers should at least make sure that there will be more of them in the future. But maybe the recruitment to the brotherhood will be done out from the vampire society and not being a birthright, so this is just my personal view on this.
Because of the points above, I am only giving it 4 stars - but this is still a great book which will get you more associated with the Black Dagger Brotherhood members and there is already a new plot starting which will very likely be the main plot in the third book. And I like the writing style of the author a lot.

Wer Spass an einer geheim operierender Truppe von Krieger-Vampieren hat (natuerlich alle ueberirdisch gut gebaut bzw. ausgestattet), die im Laufe von ordentlich konstruierten Handlungen die Liebe Ihres Lebens finden und diese mehr als einmal durch's Bett ziehen, fuer den ist die Serie ein Muss. Ich hab auf jeden Fall mehr als einmal den Sabber aus meinen Mundwinkeln wischen muessen :-)) Bloss nicht zu Ernst nehmen.

Schon von dem ersten Teil der Black Dagger Serie war ich begeistert. Diese Vampire kann man einfach nur ins Herz schliessen. Auch der 2. Teil steht dem in nichts nach, wenn gleich die Geschichte etwas dramatischer ist als "Dark Lover". Auch Rhage macht als liebender Vampir eine gute Figur

Der Aufbau, die Charaktaere und ihre Interaktion gefaellt mir sehr gut (nur die Namen finde ich etwas laecherlich)...
... kann es kaum erwarten, den Band ueber Zsadist in die Finger zu bekommen (sollte morgen im Briefkasten sein *freu*)
