Amazon.co.uk Review Let your child escape into a fairytale world courtesy of the Barbie As Princess Bride CD-ROM, and help Princess Bride Barbie prepare for her magical wedding day. Prince Ken has had to undertake a long journey and while he is away, Princess Barbie dreams of her wedding day and waits for Prince Ken's return. Barbie is helped by Butterfly Fairy, in her preparations for the wedding. Invite the guests, make and decorate the cake, sing love songs, retrieve items from the well, conduct the orchestra, help Prince Ken to sail home, design the wedding dress and photographs and many more exciting fairytale activities. The game can be played in two modes: the first plays the adventure from start to finish in "Story Mode", and the second, "Magic Mirror Mode", allows players to complete the activities in any order. The CD-ROM is accompanied by an excellent booklet, which should be read before beginning. It is very easy to follow and it uses simple language and visual clues. Particularly useful are the helpful tips for troubleshooting if problems arise. The music of Barbie as Princess Bride can be played on any audio CD player by starting with track two. The manufacturer's recommended age is 4 years and above, but help will certainly be required at the lower end of the age range. --Susan Naylor

My daughter played it for hours.... February 22, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes - my daughter absolutely loved building wedding cakes, designing wedding dresses etc. As a divorcee, it made me cringe every time I went near the PC while this one was on. Really yucky stuff for those of us who don't want our daughters to just grown up and get married, and feel there should be a element of education/whatever in the games they play.BUT - we got it when she was about 4, she played it for hours, and she is now 7 and still playing it, as an old favourite. She keeps going back to it again and again. (Think it will have to disappear one night!).
Fun game for young children April 26, 2004 Christy2002 (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a popular title with my daughter who graduated to this from Noddy and Teletubbies. Its a fun game with various activities such as cake anddress decorating which can be returned to on a regular basis. This isn't the most difficult game that you could buy but many children will like it for that reason.
Barbie as Princess Bride September 16, 2002 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This was my four year old daughter's first Barbie CD and, considering that it provided little stimulation and interest, probably her last. Indeed, once the novelty of seeing Barbie on the PC wore off, she found that there was minimal interactive content. The dozen or so "activities" took about an hour to explore and did not call for input much beyond basic mouse control. There are available more engaging CDs for children at better prices.
A 4 year old girls dream! February 23, 2002 Nikki (Suffolk) 20 out of 20 found this review helpful
This software has been really fantastic for my four year old who loves anything Barbie. But it hasn't been a disappointment in terms of game play (as I cynically expected). There are 12 different games which mostly involve "designing" gowns, cakes etc. as well as some more action-type games like throwing coins into the fountain. She has played over and over again. Well worth the money!

Got this for a light relief from all the learning games my daughter has, I thought it would be fun as she loves Barbie and princesses. The game is quite quickly played it took about 30 minutes to play through 12 things such as decorating the cake and choosing the dress, picking the flowers and writing the invites. After you have played you can print off a picture of everything you have chosen. The novelty of this game wore off quickly and she is back onto the learning games where she is obviously happier. Having said that, on the whole it was worth trying!!!
